Over the course of around 3 hours, various clinical cases will be presented, biomechanics explained, innovative technologies demonstrated and mistakes and errors discussed openly.
From theory to practice:
On Saturday, you will also have the opportunity to take part in a hands-on course with Dr. Palone.
Speakers
Exclusive practice of Orthodontics and has held the position of Research Fellow (RTD-A) at the University of Ferrara in the years 2021-2024.
He has been the head of the module of Preventive and Community Dentistry and Paediatric Dentistry for both the degree in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics and Dental Hygiene, of the optional course Oral Cavity Injuries, and lecturer a.c. of the module of Orthodontics of the integrated course of Odontostomatological Disciplines at the University of Ferrara in the years 2021-2024. Lecturer of the course of Paediatric Dentistry at the Albanian University in the years 2021-2024.
Lecturer at the II level Master in Orthodontic Sciences at the University of Ferrara from 2023. He has carried out clinical tutor activities at the Department of Orthodontics at the University of Ferrara from 2017 to 2024.
Author of publications in scientific journals with national and international impact. Diplomate of the IBOA (Italian Board of Orthodontics) in 2021 and effective member of the AIDOR (Italian Academy of Orthodontics) in 2023.
Speaker at national and international congresses.
Course Content
- scientific and clinical information on the use of miniscrews
- most favorable application sites
- safe and predictable insertion techniques to increase the success of miniscrews
- effects of traditional maxillary expansion in growing and non-growing patients
- advantages of MARPE in third classes
- space closure (mandible and maxilla)
- open bite
- use of digital techniques, planning for the application of interradicular and palatal miniscrews using dedicated software
- Presentation of clinical cases/applications and case discussions
Optional: Hands-on course with Dr Palone on Saturday
- Operator positioning Inclinations and insertion directions
- Use of the straight hand driver towards the contra-angle
- Insertion of vestibular miniscrews on resin models using the manual driver
- Palatal miniscrew insertion on resin models with guide and the aid of implant micromotor

The course fee includes course materials, certificate of participation, catering and refreshments.
On Saturday, the working materials for the hands-on course are also included.
